It’s not even a real job today, let alone a “profession of the future.”
By the way, if — according to some Polish physics professor — today’s AI already has the intelligence of an eight-year-old child, and according to other myths, within 5 (maybe 10) years it will surpass us intellectually, achieve AGI, “singularity,” and all those other buzzwords invented by ignorant self-promoters and opportunists feeding off the AI hype (which may ultimately backfire on real AI research and reality itself!) —
then why on earth would we need “prompts”?

Would a superintelligence really require short courses to teach people how to ask it simple questions?
That’s a contradiction the egotists with titles outside computer science or AI — hungry for media attention — completely fail to see.

Calling “prompt engineering” the profession of the future is like calling “talking politely to our calculator” a new field of science. If AI is supposedly about to reach human-level intelligence — even superintelligence — why would we need courses on how to talk to it? A truly intelligent system doesn’t need carefully crafted commands, it needs understanding — something that many of its loudest prophets clearly lack.
